(NOTE: This is a 'demo' version of the study for the benefit of readers, and does not collect any data; feel free to explore it!) Enter Full ScreenThis study tests your ability to perceive the continuity of actions.
You will watch a series of videos showing different actions.
Each video will be played twice. Your job is to judge whether the second play has a pause.
Click Next to continue.
On each trial, you will first watch what an action looks like.
When the action disappears, a "mask" image will appear to cover up the animation.
Then the action will be played again, but this time, there may be a pause somewhere in that second play.
Your job is to judge whether there is a pause in the second play.
You should press F if the second play is exactly same as the first play (no pause).
You should press J if you observe a pause in the second play.
The container's border will turn to green if your judgment is correct, red if incorrect.
To start off, you'll do a couple of practice trials.
Click "Start Practice" to begin.
You have done the practice! In the next trials, the pause could be very brief and occur in any timepoint during the action.
You need to pay close attention to the animations! The task is not easy, but please try your best!
(The study will take about 20 minutes. When the experiment is done, you will be redirected back to Prolific's webpage where you will be given a completion code.)
